Getting to know Jay Alonzo

Jay Alonzo is a commercial and editorial photographer by profession. Among his roster of clients are Super Bowl of China, Big Buddha, Chili’s, Victoria Court, La Corona Hotel, Pearl Manila Hotel, Pier One, Kumon, Soda and Blue computer laptops. He has also done poster and publicity photography for the local movie industry with a string of film titles such as “Mano Po 3″, “Aishiteimasu”, “Bedtime Stories” and the international award-winning horror flick “Sigaw” (now released internationally as “Echo”) to his credit. JayA is a contributing photographer for Mabuhay magazine, Philippine Airline’s in-flight publication, and High Life magazine, the supplementary magazine of Business World and Inflight, Seair's inflight magazine.

In between shoots, JayA teaches at the Alcove Gallery, Filipinas Heritage Library (an Ayala Foundation Inc. division) starting out with the Technology & Livelihood Resource Center (a government livelihood training institution) in February 1996. JayA has been tapped by Axis Global Technologies to become the first official endorser of Olympus digital cameras in the Philippines. He has also conducted several photography training workshops for the company’s promotion and sales team as well as for the Olympus Asia & Middle East Block. He was recently featured in the Issue 94 (April 2010) of the Digital Photographer UK followed by Issue 32 (June 2010) of Digital Photographer Philippines.
